Brad Keselowski Wins Carl Edwards Wrecks At Talladega

Carl Edwards Talladega wreck handed the victory to unknown driver Brad Keselowski. Carl Edwards wreck at Talladega was not a mistake on Brad Keselowski’s part, and as many drivers say, it was “Just Racing”. The replays clearly showed that Edwards gave Keselowski room to drive under him, and he took advantage of the opportunity. Edwards came down the track to block Brad Keselowski, and clipped Keselowski to cause the accident. Edwards went airborne and clipped Ryan Newman, sending him further in the air and into the catch fence against the grandstand.

The win was huge for Keselowski, as he is completely unknown in the Sprint Cup Series. Not only was Keselowski only driving in his 5th Sprint Cup race, he was driving for a part-time cash strapped race team. Brad Keselowski drives full time for Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the Nationwide Series.

After the race, Carl Edwards was not upset with Brad Keselowski, but he said something that could be a prediction of things to come. He stated that someone is going to die out there on the restrictor plate races before NASCAR changes the rules. I agree with Carl Edwards. Eventually, someone is going to die again in the Sprint Cup Series. Greg Biffle nearly t-boned him after the accident, and this surely would have caused serious injuries.

In my opinion, NASCAR should eliminate restrictor plate racing. I don’t see Talladega as real racing. Sure, the action is incredible, but it may take another Dale Earnhardt style tragedy for NASCAR to explore safety again. Hopefully, none of the fans were seriously injured in the accident, but NASCAR should reconsider restrictor plate racing at Talladega and Daytona.
